changes at the job
At work today we got notice that our work hours are changing in January. We currently work 9-5, but now will work 8:30 to 5:30, which in essence adds another hour of work. Not sure what "inspired" this change exactly. It could be simply to compensate for the hour long lunch break we get paid for or maybe something else. There hasn't been an explanation for it, just a list of policy changes made. Is it wrong of me to wonder if we're working an extra hour to expect an extra hour's worth of pay?
Frankly, I'm a little worried. Work used to take us out to lunch 2 or 3 times per week but over the past 2 or 3 weeks, that's stopped. We also used to have a fully stocked pantry of lunches and snacks but that's also gone now. And now these hour changes have come down the pipeline and I feel like there's something going on behind the scenes and that all these changes are somehow related.
